Perfect Starter Microphone! Read for Set-Up Tips!

I bought this microphone after doing hours of research on which microphone would be best for me. I wanted to get started creating YouTube videos but not spend too much on a microphone in case things did not work out. This product is perfect for beginners because it gives you a good quality sound. Plus, if you wanted to upgrade down the road it wouldn’t be too much of a loss.

ICE version is fine for gaming. Either way you have to buy an ON/OFF switch.

Ok in hindsight I feel like I should have purchased the Snowball ICE microphone. Here is why.

Pretty Cool – Very Rockabilly…

The Brushed Aluminum finish was frustrating – at first – it arrived slightly Oxidized of you will – then after some use – now with some hand oil – the finish did take on a bushed feel. It’s a minor gripe at this point – as for plugging The Snowball in – & using it – I’m pretty happy with it… It does have a certain feel to it – you have to be very up close and personal – with The Blue Snowball

I needed a quick and portable microphone for a series of over-the-internet lectures that I was delivering. After some research, I went ahead and bought the Snowball, thinking that is was the best easy, plug-and-play option. I’m very happy with my purchase.

A good starting mic

This is the first microphone I used when starting with youtube. It has a pretty good quality. The base it comes with has a telescoping arm so you can adjust the height. And it is quite sturdy with the fold-out legs.

Amazing Mic, Works on all my computers (Win10, Win7, & OSX)

I went through quite a few < $50 mics trying to create a decent audio setup. A friend of mine recommended that I just spend the bit extra and give this mic a shot. I am not disappointed. The mic has amazing sound quality and the brushed aluminum looks great in my setup. It picks me up fine but everyone says they cant hear my hollering 5 year old(unless she comes over to me). I have the mic level adjusted down to 50% in windows 10 and that seems to work well for me. I do use software to make my mic threshold activated to prevent unwanted transmission of background noise. The mic has a switch on the back for 3 recording types. If you are just talking into the mic and want minimal background noise use setting 1. If you are recording vocal, or instruments use setting 2(Your mic may be on this by default, it will be very quiet if you don't switch it over). And setting 3 is for omni-directional, so you could set the mic in the middle of a table and pick up everyone around the table equally. The only downside to this mic so far is that the only shock mount that works for it is $45. The BLUE Yeti mic has the exact same recording quality, just a traditional mic style, if you don't mind the mark-up get that one. Ill update this review in the coming months.

I bought this microphone about two years ago. I spend a lot of time talking online and this thing has made a world of difference in the quality of my audio. I recommend this to any one that uses voice chat a lot.

Great Mic, Quality and Easy Set Up

The Blue Snowball Mic is one that I have had my eye on for some time and was very interested in purchasing except for the steep price point and my lack of need for something that I consider to be a more middle to high end microphone. After seeing a price drop recently, I jumped at the chance to purchase the snowball and I’m glad that I did.

A Great Mike For The Bedroom

 on May 4, 2016

The producer and narrater of my previous book said that she was too busy to do my next one. “Do it yourself!” she said. “It’s easy.” Then she told me that I would have to spend at least $300 to $500 on a decent microphone (money I didn’t want to part with), and offered to get some recommendations from her producer friends. In the meantime, I spent a few hours researching mikes on Amazon and decided to take a chance on this. If you want to hear the book that came out of it, you can do it for free; just look for the most recent book by David Boe (released on April 10; they won’t let me link to it) and click on the audio preview, right here on the Amazon site. That’s me, and the recording is as good as any studio, except I did it in my bedroom. In my bed, specifically, surrounded by a few pillows. I mixed it with the free Audible software, which I taught myself to do in just two days. From beginning to final production took just one week. That includes learning the software. (Okay, yeah, maybe I’m a genius; at least my dad thinks so.) But seriously, this is a great mike. It worked right out of the box. Now, to be fair, I’ve only recorded one book with it, and used it for a short time, but everything looks great so far. I can’t wait to do my other books. Without getting out of bed.
